The FIFA World Cup 2018 is set to begin today in Russia and all the qualified teams have arrived and have been holding press conferences. But what happened the other day at the French National team’s press conference seems to have tickled the funny bone of everyone that watched.

Antoine Griezmann was taking questions and the hottest topic seemed to be the rumors of his possible transfer away from Atletico Madrid to FC Barcelona this summer. Griezmann said that he has made up his mind on this matter, but didn’t wish to declare it presently.

“Today is not the day to talk about my future,” said the French national. “Yes, I have already made a decision about my future. But I’m not going to speak about it today. It’s not the time or the place.”

The press conference was supposed to be held in French and so a Spanish reporter from Spanish radio network Cadena SER, Pedro Morata, found a workaround. He typed out his question asking Griezmann about his future in the Google Translate app and played it using the microphone in French.

Griezmann seemed humored by this, but French National team’s media officer Philippe Tournon was not. He seemed livid and spoke out saying, “No, next question. You sitting next to him, you go next please.” He directed Griezmann to not answer his question.

He added, “I told you this press conference would be in French only and Antonie has answered the question.” But Pedro Morata seemed impressed by his own try nonetheless.
