Oppo Find X India launch on July 12

Oppo officially entered Europe with the launch of the Find X and Find X Lamborghini Edition. The highlight of the Oppo Find X is the truly all screen display with a screen-to-body ratio of 93.8 percent. Oppo managed to offer this by including a mechanical sliding camera on the smartphone that pops up to unlock using face recognition, or when using the camera app.

Oppo has sent out media invites for the launch event in India for July 12, where it will be launching the Find X. It is priced at 999 Euros, which roughly corresponds to Rs 78,500 in India. It remains to be seen how aggressive the company can go with the India pricing.

Xiaomi opens 1,000th service center in India

Earlier today, Xiaomi announced that it now has 1000 service centers in India, spread across “more than 600 cities,” with the latest one is located in Hyderabad. “At Xiaomi, our focus is on making innovation accessible to everyone. We make this happen by delivering best specs with high quality at an honest pricing. Therefore, we extend quality across all our pillars including customer service,” Manu Kumar Jain, Vice President for Xiaomi and Managing Director for Xiaomi India said in a statement.

“After sales is one of the most important functions in Xiaomi and it is the second biggest workforce in our India team. With over 6000 workforces contributing to the service network, we are building a strong network of dedicated employees who are focused on providing the best quality to our customers,” he added.

WhatsApp starts rolling out voice and video group calling feature

WhatsApp rolls out group voice and video calling

After announcing the group voice and video calling feature at Facebook F8 conference, WhatsApp is now rolling out the feature to users on the platform. For now, users can use the group calling feature to talk to about 4 people at the same time, but in the future, the company may add ability to add more participants. The feature looks simple and easy to use. To have a group call, you first need to start a video with one participant. The feature is available for both Android and iOS users.

Google Podcasts standalone app has arrived on Android

Google has silently launched a native podcasting app for Android, which arrives years after Apple introduced ‘Apple Podcast’ on its iOS devices. Until now, Google had kept its podcast app buried within Google Assistant and Assistant-powered smart speakers to play flash news. Having a dedicated app to listen to podcasts has met with positive response by most Android users.

The company has already sent out invites for the event which will take place on June 25. The teaser hints that the Redmi 6 Pro will come with a 19:9 display and AI integration. It will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 SoC and feature 4,000mAh battery.
